Radiant BIAPOC Zazenkai

Soto Zen

Soto Zensilentday-sitzazenkinhin

One-day zazenkai for Black, Indigenous, Asian, and People of Color practitioners. The schedule includes zazen, kinhin, oryoki, chanting, a senior's talk, and dokusan with the teacher.

About this retreat

Zen Mountain Monastery hosts this one-day zazenkai specifically for BIAPOC practitioners. The day follows a traditional Soto Zen structure: periods of zazen (sitting meditation) alternated with kinhin (walking meditation), oryoki (formal eating practice), chanting, and a talk from a senior student. You'll have the opportunity for dokusan, a private meeting with the teacher.

The center has not yet published the full schedule or the name of the lead teacher. Contact Zen Mountain Monastery directly for details on arrival time, the number of sitting periods, and what to bring.
