with Jiryu·Soto Zen

Soto Zenresidentialzazenkinhindokusan

Five-day Zen retreat at Tassajara centered on zazen practice, with daily early morning and formal sitting periods, walking meditation, Dharma discussion, and individual meetings with Abbot Jiryu. Afternoons are unscheduled.

About this retreat

This five-day sesshin at Tassajara, SFZC's mountain monastery, follows a traditional structure: early morning zazen, formal sitting periods throughout the day, kinhin (walking meditation), and dokusan—private meetings with Abbot Jiryu. Dharma discussion is included; afternoons are left open, giving you time to rest or be in the natural setting.

Abbot Jiryu leads the retreat. The center has not yet published full schedule details, lodging specifics, or notes on who the retreat is open to. Contact SFZC directly for those details and to learn about the waitlist status.
