Saturday In Person One-Day Sitting
Soto Zen
A one-day sitting open to the public on the final day of San Francisco Zen Center's spring practice period. The schedule includes zazen, kinhin, a dharma talk, and oryoki meal practice in the zendo.
About this retreat
This one-day sitting is open to the public and stands alone—you don't need to have attended the five-day practice period ending that day to participate. The schedule includes zazen (sitting meditation), kinhin (walking meditation), a dharma talk, and oryoki, the formal meal practice done in the meditation hall. If you've never done oryoki before, the center typically guides participants through the form.
San Francisco Zen Center practices in the Soto Zen tradition. Contact the center if you have questions about experience level or what to bring.
