Zazenkai Half Day Sitting
Zen
Four-hour zazen sitting on Sunday afternoon at Austin Zen Center. Open to all, no experience necessary. Suggested donation $25 for members, $35 for non-members, but free participation.
A half-day zazen sitting (zazenkai) is a straightforward entry point into Zen practice—four hours of formal sitting with no extensive commitment. This is the kind of sit that fits into a Sunday afternoon: enough time to settle into the practice, but short enough that if sitting is new to you, you're not committing to a full day or residential retreat.
Austin Zen Center operates on a dana (donation) basis, meaning participation is never withheld for lack of funds. The suggested donations—$25 for members, $35 for non-members—support the center, but are not required.
